I was feeling feisty when a guest asked THE QUESTION. It was actually a variation of THE QUESTION. I was chilling a cocktail glass and she happened to be sitting in front of the soda gun. I stopped in front of her with my glass full of shaved ice and filled it with water. "OOO! What's that?!?", she asked with excitement. I replied, in my best Leslie Nielsen deadpan, "Ice & water". She called me a smartass, and I said "Seriously....ice and water. I am chilling the glass. In a few seconds it will magically transform into a Mexican Cosmo." I proceeded to make my drink, sticking my tongue out at her while shaking it. She laughed and left me a nice tip. David Lane likes to say he is amazed that I can put someone in their place and they smile and give me money or offer to by me drinks.
As a reward for reading my post, I am including a recipe for the drink I was making.
Mexican Cosmo
1 1/2 oz Cuervo Especial® Gold
1/2 oz triple sec
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz cranberry juice
Chill a cocktail glass. Combine the above ingredients with ice in a mixing glass and shake. Strain into chilled glass. Garnish with a lime.
